My partner Rich Gatto and I lead a six-person team here at Marcus, and five of us use Apto. Prior to signing on with the software, I was using Excel and Outlook. My partner was using REA, but the ease of use and functionality of Apto were appealing and that’s why we decided to make the switch.

Now, when we are connecting with clients or cold calling, Apto is always up on our screens. We see a lot of efficiencies with the software. We love that it’s a cloud-based CRM and you can access Apto from anywhere, whereas with other CRMs you have to be on a server in the office. When we’re out in the field, we can just pull up the Apto mobile app and look up important details about a prospective client we’re about to meet with.

"If you’re looking to grow your team and business, it is critical to have a CRM. You need a way to have control of what’s happening in the businessIt’s hard to manage 30 deals without some sort of centralized system to monitor activity on each of the deals and what each team member is doing. Excel or an older product out there just aren’t enough."

While our onboarding wasn’t seamless, our customer success manager kept us engaged through our Apto experience. She continues to be extremely helpful with any issues we come across. It is obvious that she really cares about us and other Apto customers as well, and that has greatly improved our experience overall. The Apto team has also been open to our feedback. They are trying to listen to brokers so they can make positive changes to the software and services.

If I were to say something to a broker who hasn’t yet made the investment in Apto, or even a commercial real estate CRM in general, it would be this: if you’re looking to grow your team and business, it is critical to have a CRM. You need a way to have control of what’s happening in the business. It’s hard to manage 30 deals without some sort of centralized system to monitor activity on each of the deals and what each team member is doing. Excel or an older product out there just aren’t enough.
