Is this the year you finally revamp your brokerage website? Frankly, we’ve seen a lot of brokerage websites over the years, and many haven’t been updated in a decade or more! Those could probably use a little love.
Fortunately, these days, there are plenty of ready-made, easy-to-use templates to create a professional website. Some are even free! A website overhaul doesn’t have to be expensive or even that cumbersome. While you should be thoughtful about your approach and take time to do it right, you can switch over to some new site templates without much hassle.
Here’s what you need to know to get started—and a few website templates to inspire you.
Why you might need a new site anyway
Of course, you shouldn’t create a new website just for the sake of doing something new. There should be some goal in mind. Do you want to refocus your brand? Appear more in search results? Attract more visitors to your site?
If so, you’ll want to optimize. Maybe your website just looks outdated and you want to get a better hold on your market. Maybe it’s not mobile-responsive and looks strange across different devices. Needless to say, that’s not ideal in today’s world!
After all, first impressions matter, and your website is often that first impression. Commercial brokerage has traditionally lagged on technology, so just having a polished site can often put you ahead of much of the competition.
Here are some templates to make sure you get started right.
6 popular, easy-to-use website templates
There are many options out there to build your site, but we’ll focus on a few of the most popular options: Hubspot and Squarespace.
Hubspot is one of the most popular marketing automation tools out there, and is better for small companies than many of their more enterprise-appropriate competitors. If you’re already using Hubspot, this is the place to start when it comes to website redesign.
And the template marketplace is huge! There are thousands of options, both free and paid, ranging from single email templates to packs with hundreds of page options. Fortunately you can filter it down based on what you’re looking for. But if you’re still overwhelmed, we think these three options are both professional and suited for commercial real estate.
Act2.1: This template pack is pretty expansive and may have more than you need, but it’s a popular option and has a lot of stellar reviews. That means you can trust the designers to provide all the implementation help and support you might need.
Your Home – Real Estate Multipurpose Theme Pack: This real estate-centric template was inspired by residential needs but can easily be adapted to the commercial industry. It’s smaller and less expensive than our first option, but it still provides a decent amount of page templates with plenty of image space to show off your listings.
Exquisite Pack: Don’t be deterred by the bright colors, you can customize those easily to fit your branding. This is another robust pack with a lot of options to choose from!
This is another popular, reasonably priced website creation tool. They also have a huge range of options, but we found a few places to start for real estate in particular.
Bryant: A website template designed with real estate in mind, its thumbnail galleries and individual listing pages can help you market listings and seal the deal. While you’ll see residential space in the template, it’s easy to adapt to commercial needs.
Harris: This simple, streamlined template is suited to professional, formal industries. Although there are fewer images, the text allows you to get straight to the point, allowing you to highlight your competitive advantage or market expertise. And of course, your contact information is front and center.
Hayden: This image-heavy template is based on an interior design firm, which can easily translate to commercial real estate. If you have a property management arm or different specialties, for example, the template supports that division and can highlight each.
Those are just a few places to start! There are a ton of options that can suit your needs, whether you’re a one-broker-band or a large team.
3 marketing companies made for commercial real estate
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention a few CRE-specific companies that can help you with website design and marketing.
