Our story begins like those of many other tech startups: our founder, Tanner McGraw, became frustrated with the lack of technology available in his industry and decided to do something about it. He was a commercial real estate broker for about a decade, made his own product during the Great Recession, received positive feedback from his team and peers, got VC funding, and invested in building out the product and company of his dreams.
So yes, we were built by and for brokers.
But what sets us apart, despite growing a sizable amount in a short period of time, is our deep commitment to the broker community. We still live our foundational principle: “created by and for brokers.”

We have varied and thorough channels to make sure we’re getting broker feedback in real time. Our product team in particular is dedicated to traveling around the country to spend time with brokers in their offices to get a real feel for their day-to-day.
We’re well beyond our humble CRM beginnings, but we’re still completely focused on our original mission—building tools brokers love.
Angela has been in the software business for a few decades now, having pioneered CRM well before it was a given part of any business. She's held executive positions at Rally Software, Symantec, and NEON as well as founding two venture-backed technology companies.
Steve has been working in technology for more than 15 years. Prior to Apto he spent seven years at Rally Software, a company that provides software and services solutions that drive agility. He has a PhD in computer science from Strathclyde University in Scotland.
Tanner is the founder of Apto and a commercial real estate veteran with a decade of brokerage experience. Before Apto, Tanner served as Vice President of Healthcare Advisory Services at Transwestern and as a Senior Associate at Marcus & Millichap.
Rok has over a decade of experience as a Sales Executive at best-in-class technology companies. Prior to Apto, he served as VP of Sales at Top Hat, where he led the company from $1M to $30M in revenue. He also held multiple sales leadership roles at Groupon.
Jeremy is a technology product management executive focused on bringing new and sustaining innovations to market within both SaaS and web-based applications. Prior to Apto, he served as the VP of Product Management at Return Path.
Michael is an accomplished marketing leader with two decades of experience across technology startups and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to Apto, he led the marketing department at Placeable and before that, First Data. Michael received his MBA from Yale University.
